Is there a name for the trope where a couple has a bunch of kids and every single one of those kids dresses exactly like miniature versions of one of the parents? I always found that kind of thing intensely amusing, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone verbally acknowledge what a weird thing it is that we've just kind of accepted in our media.

I think if they mated is enough. But with that said, they do it like that because an actual realistic blend of traits and a different clothing style wouldn't look close enough to either parent for viewers to actually recognize it as the child of those two characters. Especially with facial traits being so simplified in anime (and different from artist to artist in a shared continuity like Touhou with hundreds of thousands of artists all drawing the same characters), if you have a different hair style, at least moderately different color, different clothes, and at least moderately different facial traits, it may as well be a total rando.
