It makes sense for her speech patterns to be similarly archaic too, as a Zashiki Warashi...
I'd be careful applying that logic, since it would imply that other youkai like (has to exist for 100 years to be "born") tsukomogami would all need to use older forms of speech, which may not be forthcoming.
It's more likely that the artist just wanted to recreate the Teito Kuu-Teetoku dynamic, and was going to slap it on any random puchi that would fit the bill.
Certainly gives her a readily recognizable "voice" for those familiar with Teetoku-chan.
Which is why I translated her in the same way! Let's hope that doesn't come back to bite me. Shiki's looking pretty Heian-style there though, so I'll probably be in the clear.

This is just a hunch since I can't actually read Kanji/Hiragana/Katakana outside of a few exceptions, but I suspect you can say the same of Kuu and Reiga while Oh!Yodo! would be a ringer for Ao?

It's certainly why I translated her one line the way I did on the character page, so if it's going to bite you, I'll get nipped too. But yeah, we should be safe; he's given her the same verbal tic and (so far) the same would-be straight man irascibility, though time will tell whether it proves as volatile as Teetoku-chan's. I await her first "argl"-based outburst.
Shiki!
Ao-chan!I picked up a cat youkai from out front of the office!Certainly...Hold! To all appearances, she is nought but a fox!You do not have to accede!Have your eyes putrefied!?A cat youkai, you say.A kitt-
ahem.Haha!Me-Meooow♪No matter how you look at it, she's a fox...Right♪Fox...?What are you two on about? That's just a nekomata youkai, isn't it?A cat that's grown two tails...
