I'd like to think breast reduction surgery doesn't exist in animeland. I don't know a single girl in any anime or manga whose boobs have decreased in size canonically and are not due to art style quirks.

First, that myth is entirely a myth.
Second, you've never met any Amazons to point them anywhere.
Third, I'm sure if the Amazons had been acquainted with crossbows, they would have used them like everyone else that was.

Indeed, they are inconvenient. But like every other surgery there's a default risk of dropping dead, or being seriously affected psychologically somehow. Most folks these days unfortunately completely ignore the risks inherent in surgeries or hospital visits/stays in general (they're by far the best places to pick up multi-drug resistant bacterial strains).

On the other hand, supermodels these days almost universally resemble shambling bones to me. The ribs showing is a big no-no, and if they remove floating ribs for the sake of a slim waist it's even worse. Being repulsed by such might be a matter of going too far against human evolutionary nature. (In Mass Effect, a Krogan male with a big hump is attractive as it shows he is a good hunter. This is not so different from humanity where having some meat on you is a good thing. Female obesity though is generally unattractive as it signifies a lack of self-regulatory mechanisms (mental and/or physical) and the health risks (especially complications in pregnancy) make being attracted to such evolutionarily unfavorable)
