If this is really how the Sun & Moon series is going to look, it might just ruin the show. Granted, the show had been a little lackluster until parts of X & Y, but still.

I'll admit that it currently looks disappointing, but isn't it a bit too early to judge? The show hasn't even aired yet.

Have you seen the trailer yet? The sad part is, Even Pokemon season 1 seems more mature than the new Sun&Moon anime is going to be. It seems like they really de-aged Ash and are going for an even younger target audience.
Seems like something I would expect from Shin-chan or Doremon or something.

Well, since the older fans already are sick to death of Pikapikapi years ago, you might as well do something to make sure the yellow rat remains iconic among kids in the next generations.
They've tried shoving Pikachu to the side in favor of Greninja in XY, and I guess that worked, but I guess even the anime team isn't going to be so cheap as to simply reuse that entire "my starter wins against everything until league" shtick for Sun and Moon, lest the new starter be called "Greninja ripoff".
The older fans are going to play your games anyway and have been ranting about your anime for 10 years already too, so why bother with them now right? We gotta win back the kid fans those Youkai derps stole from us, dammit!

I have seen the 15 second trailer, and the animation almost reminds me of Summer Wars and Wolf Children, both of which are great movies, it looks great and different is a nice change of pace considering the premise of the Sun and Moon anime isn't focused on the copy and paste plot all the other seasons had til now. It's sad that everyone is a selfish nitpicker these days, this series hasn't aired yet and we've hardly seen ANYTHING on it to say whatever on it, just because the art style is different shouldn't mean Ash is childish. Let's not forget one thing, since the beginning Ash has always been enthusiastic, carefree, excitable and rash while acting like a child at times despite his experience as a trainer, so saying he's no longer as mature as he was in X and Y when he's always been the same as he was is as invalid as the Death Battle videos.
