I find regular Coke to be too sweet (leaves my mouth feeling coated) and with an odd cinnamon flavor to it. I suppose it comes down to what you're used to drinking.

It's that artificial sweetener you're tasting. Aspartame can taste a little bit bittery-or even metallic to some tongue due to different gene. But the effect of overconsuming this are the same: diarrhea.

Well, I guess, in a way, I find most sodas to be too sweet anyway (excepting the 'isotonic' ones, and pure carbonated water), so I tend to drink them "over the rocks" instead of "neat", so as to speak.
