Naturally, I never saw Decision when it actually aired either. (^^;) It was a generation gap festival inside the car.

Well, I guess it is time to force ask them to watch those animes. Heh.

Reader-added tags include "Generation gap" and "A hissing sound".

I'm sure you'll remember this survey from way back when. It's in syndicated reruns now:

    Which generation are you?
    • Osomatsu-kun
    • Saint Seiya
    • Evangelion
    • Yuu-Gi-Oh
    • Osomatsu-san

I hardly can believe if there's any anime watcher that never heard of Saint Seiya....

First was probably Voltes V, and Daimos, the latter which I thought was the coolest thing ever at the time. That's not exactly my generation, though, as that those two aired around the time I was old enough to watch TV. I suppose Evangelion would be the anime of my generation, since Yu Yu Hakusho isn't on the poll.

Too many shows to know about, too little time to actually watch, let alone remember the song(s).

I'm sure (nearly) everyone here knows what Touhou is, but I guarantee you that most people cannot identify a Touhou song to save their life.

My first ever anime watched was the Chinese and Cantonese dubs of Dragon Ball (pre-Z).

2nd anime ever watched was the Chinese and Malay dubs of Doraemon.

The next major anime i watched was Love Hina.

I can't recall watching anything else between Doraemon and Love Hina (memory is nothing but a huge blank for that period), but i know for a fact i never watched SailorMoon or Gundam.

    Depending on how you count:
Moomin, Pokémon, Digimon or DBZ for my first.

Heard of, and read some, as for watching... eventually maybe.

Earliest for me was Speed Racer, followed a few years later by BoTP and Star Blazers. (I later heard about Astro Boy and Marine Boy, but those were never aired where I was living at the time, as far as I know.) By the time I first got acquainted with organized fandom, newer (if not absolutely new) stuff included Dirty Pair and Z Gundam, but darned if I can remember exactly what the first original-language anime I ever saw was.

First anime that I watched on its original voice acting, with subs, on TV is probably Sakura Wars. The TV channel that was airing it used to use dubs, and I was like "aw man, I don't wanna be reading all these subtitles all day" at the time.

Just a couple more years later, I started buying bootleg copies of subbed anime. Around that time, bootleg discs were everywhere and one didn't really care if they were bootlegs because of the price. I had this horrid one of GTO where nearly all the names were wrong.

I was about to say Pokémon but then I remembered that the local general store had "Kimba the White Lion" on VHS to rent.

I am the Evangelion generation. Well, I could say the original Sailor Moon, Doraemon and B't X while I'm at it, too. Wait - Doraemon doesn't count over here. they're constantly airing reruns of the original series like my country's stuck in a time loop.

Then again, I wonder if anyone is going to call me old if I mention Yadamon and Zenki...

I'm from Sci-Fi era when they were airing animes like Akira, Project A-KO, Vampire Hunter D, Venus Wars, and so on. I think it was Akira that was my first anime but, I can't remember if it was the first or the later.

Macross via Robotech, Voltron, and Mobile Suit Gundam. I'm surprised that the Lily sisters haven't even heard of Shuffle before, given the meme Kaede created with her yandere.
