I seriously think he came in through the door but just that Akabono didn't stand a chance noticing him as he slips in.

The motion lines on the window suggest otherwise. That, and the door was mostly blocked so he couldn't have slipped by due to the lack of room to do it in. He knocked, moved quickly out of the corridor, then made his merry way through the window. Because he's awesome like that.
