Some pages later and I still can't decide how to feel about Kongou looks. In every other artist comparison I've always liked dem buns more but the gap between her somewhat dignified-beautiful looks and the way she acts is very appealing.

Seeing Kongou's new hair style keeps making me think it's not Kongou but some 5th new Kongou class battleship.

I questioned the same too and did my research, apparently there is an extra story in the books the author sells at MelonBooks. That panel is from the extra story at vol. 2. We have seen 18 from 28 pages (the z1 meeting arc), so excluding cover art, index, credits, additional art, etc. the extra story should be at least 5 pages more.
