Lumping Rommel together with the other names seems very inappropriate.
Let's see, Daiteikoku is a sci-fi eroge/strategy (although more puzzle) game that roughly uses world war II as a story background in the typical anime fashion. (I.e. lots of changes, but some events are derived from historical events)
Dokutz is based on Third Reich Germany... Somehow I have a feeling that "lumping" Rommel together with the other names seems very appropriate.
When you compare Rommel to things like Hitler guy, Goebbels guy and (maybe to a lesser extent) Dönitz, I believe he's in a totally different level.
You know, for as bad Hitler and Göbbels were, when you call them "things" you almost step down to their level.
Not to mention that there is still the simple fact that Daiteikoku is an anime game. It uses real life names, locations and events that are slightly similiar to what happened in history as a background for it's story.

While I agree with you that I absolutely despises this genre and fad of moefying male historical figures(bad or not) because it is a very bad taste that glorifies the villains while disgracing the heroes into fap objects, I don't see why you're making a big deal of Rommel being included in the roster(I don't play this game so I don't even know which character here is Rommel anyway).
He may be a good leader, but he's still a Nazi, and when you're trying to make a character roster of more than 10 Nazis, chances are Rommel's going to show up. It's like trying to deny Schindler isn't a member of Nazi party only because he is actually a good guy and no Nazi can ever have a different mind.

I don't think I made it into a big deal (or at least, that wasn't my intention). I just made a comment, as someone who respects him as a professional soldier.

He did fight for Nazi Germany, but I don't think he was aligned with the Nazi party or with their ideals. The association you made (with Schindler) is not exactly relevant as we are dealing with different people under different circumstances, but I understand what you mean (your "roster of more than 10" summarizes everything).

You could also say it glorifies the heroes and disgraces the villains into fap material. The idea of who the villains and heroes are is subjective. It is all a matter of perspective. There were good guys and bad guys on all sides. Who specificly is up to the interpreter.
