Am I the only person who read that as Kogasa-san saying #4 had the conn? I must be watching too much Star Trek, or something. It's always good for the "captain" to take care of explaining things to those above her, right?

When I verified the time shift later, it looks like things got properly charged up, which was a big help. "You have control"/"I have control" is a traditional phrase used for handoffs between co-pilots, which seems like a likely origin for both this use and the use in Gundam.

Well, it's certainly an important time to be entirely clear about exactly who has control.
