Imaizumi is most likely a werewolf.

Is it just me, or are the character designs kinda... plain?

Sekibanki's theme outright names Dullahan. Imaizumi's last name is awfully similar to Rougarou a werewolf of french origins.

It's all because of those hobgoblins right? When Yukari appeared with a whole bunch of Hobgoblins in "Wild and Horned Hermit" it was just a matter of time for more non youkai monsters to appear.
Ok, so there were already Vampires in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and that's where the hobgoblins ended up living so... will all these new touhou go there too?

It can still be an Inugami.
Also, since the rokurokubi was something that was already presented in one of the three fairies manga, it can be one of the different types of Youkai Dog, some of which Kasen talks about. Or even a wolf youkai, a real wolf youkai, and not a tengu wolf.

Couldn't Yukari just gap dwarves in? It would have been funny to have Dwarf Fortress IN GENSOKYO.

and another thing that concerns me ....there mermaids can possibly live ? I can only think of misty lake ..

Gensokyo has plenty of rivers and, of course, the lake. No exactly lacking places to live. Kappa are a thing, after all.

Cirno is a mid-boss in Wasagakihime's stage, so it looks like you're right.

But Sekibanki can seperate her head, so shouldn't she be more akin to a nukekubi?

She is one, she's been misidentified as a different yokai due to the source material ZUN is using.

I mean as rule 34 seems pretty late now but other than that I'm LOVING the new girls ZUN has made especially Sakibanki

I thought the same thing about everybody after Yoshika in Ten Desires. Only Miko and Mamizou really caught my eye (that said, once I got to know them they turned out pretty interesting, especially Seiga). That said, the only plain thing about them is their clothes. I like the rest of their designs, especially Sekibanki.
