Well it took some time and patience with a little miracle on the top with an unfortunate casualty on the side but we got ourselves a Flan-made safe to eat Valentines chocolate. Congratulations!!!!

For the same reason that memetic mutation makes "Yuyuko makes constant food metaphors and jokes" -> "Yuyuko eats constantly" -> "Yuyuko eats several times more than humans" -> "Yuyuko can eat concrete or an entire bus full of people" -> "Yuyuko is a bigger black hole than Kirby, an insatiable Eater of Worlds"
It's not about making sense, it's about saying something more extreme than the last guy. "Flan is bad at cooking" just gets *ahem* Flanderized into "Flan creates a deep one if she gets access to a kitchen".

Eating candy is fun, so Candy is Fun. Those things are funny looking, and so they are Fun. It's simple logic really: Fun + Fun = Lots of fun. And if candy is fun and tastes good, a really funny candy tastes even better!
It's rough on the outside but it's edible enough that, not only people don't need a stomach pump, but they like it. Points for Flan for trying. Points for Sakuya for surviving.

This person speaks wisdom and is the "real" answer to any question of "why in fandom X does Y." Learn well.
{still trying to figure out the point of being "more extreme than the last guy"}
That said, I do have my own idea about the fanon of Sakuya using Meiling's head for target practice. She's aiming for Meiling's HAT--by long-prior agreement (and Meiling's idea). Any time Sakuya chances upon Meiling napping, she has carte blanche to go William Tell--and Meiling has carte blanche to try to catch the knife in mid-air. Meiling hasn't cut her fingers once, and currently boasts a 69.3% interception rate. Mutual training of Sakuya's marksmanship and Meiling's sleep-awareness, basically.
