I get it. It's a 'modernized' take on the likes of Magical Emi or Creamy Mami. But somehow, this Yume-Kawaii color palette and the whole Shibuya theme was something I didn't expect.
I saw an energy that tries to shift the meta of magical girls from this show. Her look, power and the incantation, they all came from her heart, not given or elaborated at all. The magical aliens simply gave shape to it. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but I've never heard of magical girls like that.
Successful or not, this should leave a dent in the history of the genre.
