Why? It certainly isn't true, unless you think having Marisa as a friend is "convenient". Marisa is a good friend, especially for someone who tends to borrow without asking, doesn't contribute much to your overall goals (their respective fields are completely different and she lacks the technical magical know-how of Patchouli), and likes to make a nuisance of herself when she is bored, but she's hardly "convenient".
