An image that was scanned from a physical medium such as a poster, artbook, or magazine.
When uploading a scan you didn't make yourself, the source should be left as the site where you obtained the scan from, not the title of the magazine or book. When uploading a scan you made yourself, tag it as self-scan.
See photo (medium) for when the image is photographed rather than scanned. This is common when an artist using traditional media posts a photo of their own work.
