Rather than focusing on simplicity or sexuality of revealing clothing for full-size subjects (e.g. no chibis or microscopic background characters), which can be subjective, my guideline is typically to consider the amount of visible skin. That first post is fine, but post #7767801 and especially post #7765732 would be S because of how well over the belly button is exposed. Midriff tops might be on the street nowadays but they still aren't "proper" clothing, and the idea behind G is to be as conservative as possible.
Also, the necklines on post #7765732 are so low that I would automatically rate that S regardless of the midriff.
I didn't even notice the necklines, thanks! This helps a lot. I've been leaning towards rating S when unsure anyways but it helps me know when to rerate something that's been rated G. Very appreciated!
Is there some forum post you can point to about this?
It would most likely have been in topic #21277, where the rating update was discussed. Otherwise, it would probably be some dozen or so pages back in this thread. It was a "consensus" so it wouldn't be any singular post.
I don't know of any particular forum post, but post #6602446 is a regular example of a similar situation whenever tis is discussed.
post #6602446 should be S. It's "sexually implicit" (nudity-wise), and really the background, silhouette, and "outfit" all combine as the "main focus" versus having a piece of clothing just laying somewhere in the background in a normally G post.
post #933674 ^ I’m unsure why this one is S, except maybe that her expression may seem suggestive. I just wanna be sure.
post #4036439 ^ The chibi sae on the right has the… whatever it’s called dress… which opens through the navel and the breasts covering only with lace. There would normally be cleavage, but since it’s chibi, there is none drawn. S or G?

Both posts predate the creation of the General rating, so they were automatically moved to S to prevent false positives. post #933674 looks like it can be safely moved to G, but post #4036439 has a suggestive enough dress that it should remain S.

I mean that's great and all, but this post has been discussed at length, just like post #6602110. In the end, nothing is shown.
Are you sure? Egg white flowing on her face and neck looks like suggestive_fluid to me.
It's very, very clearly just an egg. The way it's being eatin is a bit odd, but you have to literally crop it out for it to even qualify for suggestive fluid.

You are right. Based on results of suggestive_fluid rating:s I suspect everything is removed from suggestive_fluid, that has the slightest chance to be rated as general. Or, in other words, to be tagged with suggestive_fluid, either the source of the fluid must be unknown*, or, if the source is shown on the picture, it should be direct about it, not accidental, and very suggestive. I wasn't able to find a single example among them, that is as tame, as post #933674.
Don't tag actual cum as a suggestive fluid. Unknown fluids that look like cum should be treated as cum if there are no context clues to suggest otherwise.
there are several pictures with unknown fluids that look like cum, e.g. post #7467594 (artist says yogurt), post #5661497, post #7225376, post #7151638, post #6984453 and so on. (Probably user:先男虫 has more mistags, I can't search for that.). It is clear that these pictures shouldn't be rated as sensitive. It is not clear however, if these pictures should be rated with cum, and with suggestive_fluid? I very much don't like the "should be treated" phrasing. What does that even mean.
It would be much better if white/transparent fluids with unknown origin, and fluids with known origin (ice-cream, milk, water) weren't under the same tag.
post #6573477 ^ is this rating s or g? The breasts are outlined but there is no cleavage. Also, do bare shoulders affect the rating?
Sometimes. In this case, there's no suggestive framing and she's wearing normal clothes that aren't particularly revealing, so I think G is probably fine for this one.
I rated this as Sensitive because of the large tongue, but beyond that aspect, there's nothing particularly sexual or suggestive. Should I change the rating to General, or should I leave the current rating?
I used to be an active uploader for Zerochan where we'd tag every minor thigh curve and cleavage line as ecchi, so I have an idea how the rating system works, but are those posts really it? (Yes, I have already read the howto:rate page)
