Supercool-Idea:Ages

Hey, I just had a supercool idea which
hopefully has no flaws.
When using Danbooru for references for drawing
I often search for characters of certain ages,
depending on what I'm drawing.
Wouldn't it be possible to have some kind of
age-feature where people can tag the age if known?
People who looks for milfs get theirs by searching for
30-40s or whatever and so on.
My only worry is that you'd have to tag more lolis because
characters that couldve been taken for 18 are tagged as 14 then or whatever. but I don't know at which point you guys tag lolis already.

Tagging is based on what you see in the image, ages would generally be meta knowledge.

Tagging age is ultimately pointless when you're considering the variety of fictional characters out there. If you're looking for general body types, child and young will get you the smaller bodies, and milf will get you the mature women, but most of the time you won't see much reference to what you're looking for.

Plus, it would be a nightmare to tag every post on Danbooru with something like this. You'll just have to do your own legwork.

I just do it when it's painfully obvious (or I can't get at least 10 tags on one post). Like Mysterio said it's a freaking nightmare to do it that way.

You can also search for teenage, old_man, and old_woman.

Note that teenage only applies if the character is canonically either older (mature) or younger (child).
BTW, people should really use child more. It's seriously undertagged.

Edit: Same with the young tag which only applies if the character is drawn physically younger than in canon.

I was always under the impression canon was totally irrelevant and only what is clear in the image is tagged.

Thinking about to the discussions on whether remilia_scarlet should be tagged vampire due to canon vs what is actually apparent in the image.

It would make the general concept of the age tags (by their wikis) incorrect usage.

We have a decent amount of tags that describe "alterations from canon" which are partially listed in tag_group:artistic_license.
Young, teenage and adult fall into that category.

It just seems to go against "tag what you see" not what you know concept.

Tagging something with young based on its relation to canon just seems odd.

Maybe the tag should be called younger instead, to make it more clear.
