So for the show last saturday we suddenly got these costumes which are getting some fanart, so I thought they'd be a good place to start making at least some costume tags (post #9871091 being the next ones...)

Problem is: these appear to be some hybrid between costumes for the characters and for the voice actors. This is already represented in fanart, but I'll lay out why it's not clear which one they're supposed to be:

  • Obviously, the voice actors/performers perform during the shows. But usually, they are in-costume and also in-character to sense (see post #10639700 as an example)
  • These costumes showed up in real-life first, and only later did we get merch and official art. For all other costumes, this has been the other way around.
  • post #11629308, which announced the merch, appears to lean towards depicting the VAs with slightly more natural hairstyles etc. Sasaki Rico's (left) mole above mouth is missing though...
  • Which could be an artistic error, BUT! The actual merch calls these acrylic stands by stage (character) names (Doloris, Mortis, Timoris, Amoris, Oblivionis)...
  • But this is also super unusual, since usually merch of VAs just uses photos, not art.

Basically, I don't fucking know. My personal take is that it's meant to be a hybrid, but I don't know how best to go about that on Danbooru. Implying the costume to both the character and the VA seems ridiculous, but that sounds more accurate. Plus I'd argue for tagging both character and VA in the presence of this costume, so it'd save time. I'll attach a BUR to imply them to the VAs below, even though that feels wrong.
