I went with a rename just because I haven't seen any other game tags here use their beta names. Correct me if i'm mistaken though.

Changing the tag to use the game's current name is the right move, you're not mistaken, but having aliases for old names when the change is recent is useful for those unaware. Once time has passed and everyone has gotten used to the new name, that beta name utility alias would be automatically retired.
