They could've just shortened, Nanally has a surname, Coluccis, which isn't used in-game outside of her profile, many gachas don't tend to use the full name of the MC's

That wouldn't make sense because "Esper" isn't an actual name, it's a way of referring to people. That's completely different from someone's surname. You only find out Nanally's surname from in-game text, it isn't used on any promotional materials, and neither are they for other characters. You can tell from a cursory look that they're not related circumstances.
