There are pegging posts without a strap-on and are just assisted anal object insertion. Arguably mistagged but I do think a lot of people just use the term pegging for any instance of a woman anally penetrating a male especially considering the male penetrated tag is quite new.

strap-on sex is more visually similar to actual sex than a simple object insertion tho, and allows all the sexual positions a penis can do but a simple held didlo can't.

pegging sex has more results than pegging -sex, and if we say pegging is not sex, then it's hard to say that something like futa_on_male male_penetrated is sex because they look exactly the same. Compare with pegging male_penetrated, sometimes you can barely tell it's a strap-on and not a condom.
