For standardization purpose like other cathedral names like St. Peter's Basilica.
Another question, should all names that begin St. be fully written as "Saint" instead?

For consistency with other St._* tags for searchability, I guess.
I'm not sure which is the preferred spelling. Wikipedia lists it as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick's_Day and Saint Patrick's Day gets more hits in Google.

Searching it online does show that the St. is used, but if the Saint is more common, then just a utility alias should be fine, no?

Titles being written or in full or as an abbreviation should depend on what it conventional for that individual name, rather than trying to apply it the same way to everyone. Nobody would try to switch to doctor_pepper or dr_who in the name of standardization. "Saint" would be the same. If that character, place, faction, or other name generally uses one or the other, keep that.
