Making tags for One Piece characters with post-timeskip apparances

Posted under Tags

So, after seeing how Fire Emblem characters got their own "post-timeskip" tags, I figured that One Piece characters should got the same treatment as well, especially since the story is officially divided between the pre and post-timeskip, with several characters debuted before timeskip receiving new appearance.

I've got a help from @Fenton who will make a first few BUR to test for this concept. So if this went through then perhaps we might need to begin some major rework on One Piece tags.

BUR #39007 has been rejected.

mass update favgroup:42009 -> char:nami_(post_timeskip)_(one_piece)
mass update favgroup:42010 -> char:nami_(pre_timeskip)_(one_piece)
create implication nami_(post_timeskip)_(one_piece) -> nami_(one_piece)
create implication nami_(pre_timeskip)_(one_piece) -> nami_(one_piece)

Alright, I'm choosing Nami as a test, since there is no copyright divide for One Piece for its timeskip, it would be the best to separate both her pre and post timeskip versions into two separate tags with the original tag serving as an umbrella tag.

On one hand I hate this, because it's just going to open the door to more messes of costume tags for non-gacha games... But on the other hand one piece is the perfect example of why we need this, as most of the main cast has a different appearance before and after the time skip, and for characters like Brook or Sanji it becomes an absolute clusterfuck to try and search for a specific look.

If it doesn't get accepted, then in turn the Fire Emblem timeskip tags that got approved from forum #337450 onward would have to be nuked (with the exception of those given names in FEH, like forum #337739), since otherwise people can use them as precedent like Fenton has here.

It should be mentioned that the Timeskip designs, for the Straw Hats at least, vary significantly by arc. Like they're straight up different costumes between the major post-timeskip arcs. Distinguishing between Wano costume Nami (post #7480920), Fisherman Island costume Nami (post #7493059), and so on, is still going to be a matter of appending something else to the search (i.e. the costume's qualities e.g. Bikini for Fishman Island).

For characters like Nami, Luffy, Zoro, Robin and Sanji the post-timeskip tag would mostly just be distinguishing their generally taller and sexier appearances. Though it is very helpful for Franky and Chopper since their design changes are much more drastic.

Perhaps should be pointed out: the way the FE3H timeskip tags were done, only the post-timeskip designs got a tag. Pre-timeskip FE3H characters just use the normal character tag and that's it. Though I suppose that may have been because nearly every pre-timeskip FE3H character wears like the same costume.
But still on an individual character basis, each Straw Hat really only has one unique costume design during the pre-timeskip, so I question if the pre-timeskip character tags are needed and we can just use the defaults for their (one) pre-timeskip costume.

I guess the main question is what we would consider the "default". I don't know exactly when the Timeskip happened because I'm scared of how long one piece is, but considering it's still going we probably see a lot more content with the post timeskip designs, kinda like how we see more of adult Goku compared to child Goku.

We could do individual arc gentags to help search for each of the costumes, which is probably very helpful for a series as long as this. ProSeka has tags for each of its events and I haven't had anyone object to my creation of event & main story tags for FGO; don't see why we couldn't to the same for OP.

Not sure why the BUR was rejected, but what event/story tags? Didn't we have a discussion about tags like that for Umamusume where we decided to nuke them? I might have objected if I knew they existed.

I cancelled the BUR because the guy who came up with the idea in the first was Kringe, but he got banned again. So, I think there's no use in maintaining the BUR because the main idea guy is gone.

That doesn't make any sense. The BUR isn't invalid just because the creator got banned.

It's up to nonamethanks to be honest, he said the character variant tags should only be reserved for video game characters or virtual youtubers.

topic #24159 is where the English aliases for ProSeka event tags have been maintained, and the full list is at List of Project Sekai Costumes and Events. I guess the logic is "there are so many costumes for proseka characters costume tags are infeasible"?

Anyways if you want to fight about the FGO main story tags and event tags, you can find them on the Fate/Grand Order wiki page and List of Fate/Grand Order events. I think I proposed the idea in a forum post somewhere but I'm not finding it with a simple search so whatever. Logic is basically equivalent to us having individual tags for Fate/Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel.
