create alias sleeves_past_elbows -> medium_sleeves
Reading the wiki for sleeves_past_elbow, it is apparent that they fall between short_sleeves and long_sleeves. While the current name is not really bad, I feel like sticking to the short/medium/long terminology here would make it somewhat more logical. Sleeves_past_elbow can be kept as an alias, so it wouldn't really affect anyone currently using it. Thoughts?
Did you mean to alias this tag instead of imply it? I dislike it either way. The current tag name is actually descriptive of what the sleeves look like. Changing this to some generic length name removes good information from the tag name alone in the name of some silly concept like "sticking to consistent terminology". Short and long sleeves are in themselves particularly descriptive but I have no idea what the heck "medium sleeves" means. It's terrible as a main tag name and it's terrible as a potential utility alias.

Damn, I did, thanks for noticing. As for the name, as I said - I don't think it's bad per se, but medium_sleeves feels more natural, at least to me. We expect people to know what medium_hair or medium_breasts are, and that's arguably even harder to tell, so I don't see why this should be an exception?

In real life these are normally called three-quarter sleeves. Medium sleeves isn't a good name, it's not what people call them in real life, it has no obvious meaning, and it could easily be misinterpreted as elbow-length rather than forearm-length.
Unintuitive or uncommon tag names directly result in fewer searches. Medium hair gets far fewer searches than short hair or long hair, in part I think because it's not what people normally call it in real life (and probably also in part because average is boring; medium breasts also gets fewer searches than small or large breasts).

Evazion is right, "three-quarter sleeves" is the correct term, and I've looked for it before generally settling on long_sleeves even if it wasn't quite right. I didn't know sleeves_past_elbows existed.
I don't mind the current tag name, since it was fairly intuitive to me. That said, most shops near me indeed call them three-quarter_sleeves, and that term therefore makes the most sense to me to use as our tag name.
I think I'd prefer the reverse to keep consistency with the other sleeves_past_* tags.
