Deprecated tags with only banned/restricted posts

Posted under Tags

Among the plethora of random maintenance things I keep hopping between at random on this site you can barely tell I'm neurodivergent and love working on fanwikis, I cleared out some deprecated tags... almost. The remaining posts either require a gold account or are from a banned artist. Listing them here in the hopes someone else can finish the job.

Edit: Updated topic title for broader scope

I worry about the visibilty a wiki page would have though. More people look at forums than wiki pages and edits.

It's also, right now at least, not many different people clearing out deprecated tags when you look at the Daily Tag Report.

However, a wiki page is probably a better store for information, as well as like you said, editable by anyone.

Not against the idea in theory if there's enough approvers willing to check in on it and the common tag deprecators also know of it.

I don't think a wiki page would be particularly helpful in this case. Deprecated tags with posts can be easily found via a simple search, and there are only so many users who can edit these posts in the first place (and even fewer who choose to do so). This forum serves more as a "hey if you guys wouldn't mind when ya get the chance could ya finish the job?" request (and a reminder to myself to stop tryna clear certain tags since I can't help further). Anyone can reply to this forum, just like anyone can edit a wiki page, but this way is a bit less like, official-like? That's just my two cents.

I'm in favour of using a thread instead, having a wiki page seems not particularly helpful when you can find everything with the search Ylimegirl pointed out.

Having a thread that fills the role of "I cleared everything else, here's what's left" is simple and concise, which would in my opinion be lost in a wiki; which in my mind would promote dumping a large amount of tags to be cleaned up all at once over being able to scroll through a list with counts displayed so an approver can easily breeze through and pick out something they feel like gardening that particular day.
