Unless I'm misremembering, we don't implicate superhero aliases to the civilian identity. They're not supposed to be tagged at the same time unless both appear together.

topic #27298 and all the linked topics in there, there is no hard consensus or anything as far as I know.
Yes, currently they aren't supposed to to tagged together, though O personally think they should be aliased to the superhero name and superhero costume should be added and subtracted as necessary .

As someone points out in the thread Unbreakable linked, that approach leads to very messy searches with lots of false positives and false negatives. I also just don't think it makes any sense to tag something like post #7350772 as Spider-man and Iron Man. There is no Spider-man or Iron Man in that image, that is Tony Stark and Peter Parker.

Then alias it to the civilian name and still use superhero costume when needed. I find it pointless to have both, especially when the tagging is inconsistent. Granted I find it less silly when there is a full face mask like Spiderman compared to magical girls, but still.
If we are to have both keeping them exclusive to each other means you don't need to do a two-tag search to find the civilian identity (Gwen_stacy -Spider-Gwen) . But I find it at odds with how we treat literally any other type of character or costumes. I am less invested in spiderman tagging than Madoka tagging, but if this settles with setting a president for implications or aliasing then I'm happy.

The other issue is that with western superheroes you often have the same mantle being tossed around. Miles Morales as Spider-Man (Miles Morales) is pretty much the only case of such qualified tagging on the site that I know of (and I certainly wouldn't want to start having every single version of a superhero with the same name having their own qualified tag), the regular Spider-Man tag for example encompasses Peter Parker, Yamashiro Takuya (Toei Spidey), and Onomae Yuu (Fake Red Spidey).
Another example to look at is Ms. Marvel, which has a pretty even split between posts of Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan, two largely unrelated characters (both in story and abilities) who have used the same hero name in the Marvel universe. That's also not getting into DC, where MANY different people have been Green Lantern, Robin, and The Flash for example.
(and I certainly wouldn't want to start having every single version of a superhero with the same name having their own qualified tag)
Why? They are either visibly different, or you can deduce which version is it, or you don't.
I don't see much problem having robin_(dick_grayson) or dick_grayson_(robin) (this probably as a general tag) tags. Anyway, when an implication doesn't hold anymore, remove it.
Of Batman (-cosplay) images, nearly all the images not tagged Bruce Wayne are masked. The only exception really coming from handful of Terry McGinnis images, which is something more or less pushed by a single user with 4 of the 7 images tagged by the same user. Of the 220 that are tagged Batman and Bruce Wayne (-cosplay), 97 of those images are those images of Batman with his face fully covered and 4 of those images are of Bruce Wayne not wearing the Batman costume. Of those 97 images though, they have been tagged by 17 users. Of those 17 users, 4 users have tagged more than one image (84 out of 97 images, 86%+) and of those 4 users a single user accounts for 67 of those tagged images (69%+).
people forget them, and only tag the superhero versions
While I can see your stance on it. And I like to tag the civilian names along with the super hero identities. I also don't necessarily think in all cases it should be implied automatically either.
In your first implication. I would vote a no on that.
Spider-man_(miles_morales) are for people probably just looking for the Miles Morales variant of the costume. Not necessarily for Miles outside of his super hero identity.
While for Spider-Gwen or Peter Parker Spider-man they are popular enough to probably warrant an implication like this ... So maybe I could vote a yes to that.
However, that judgement is based on what I believe is most popular at the moment and mainly due to the Spider-man Spider-verse movies.
Give 5 years after the Spider-verse movies are over. No one will care about Hobie Brown, Pavtir Prabhakar, Miguel_O'hare and Hida Haruka. Mostly, I'm thinking they'll just want to look up Spider Punk, Spider-man_India and so on without their searches being mixed specifically with their civilian identites.

You either messed up a modus tollens, or mixed up implication with alias (or I do that). If spider-man_(miles_morales) implied miles_morales, then people searching for spider-man_(miles_morales) wouldn't see Miles Morales not in the costume.
I created topic #27950 before seeing this thread, which involves the same issue. We should decide on a single policy for both DC and Marvel characters.
