Nuke alternate_species

BUR #23430 has been rejected.

This tag as it is being used is redundant with alternate race. However, the tag can also be interpreted as another way to say humanization, monsterification, slimification, furrification, or mechanization. To eliminate this confusion, I suggest nuking it.

That list of tags is sometimes messy as hell, but that's a bugbear to grapple another day (even if we've failed multiple times in doing so).

But in this case, I think a nuke is the least viable option. Every image in there is a valid example of alternate race and there is a grand total of one image tagged with both. A nuke would lose a lot of info.

Alternate Race is commonly misused for alternate skin color. Species' only issue is that people use it when they mean race. With the way language is fucky, I think alternate race should be aliased to alternate species as way a to reduce mistags in the former way and actually result in better tagging for the latter.

Thus, here is a counter-BUR.

My only fear with this is that people will start using it with animals changing species or misusing it in place of animalization, but I suppose it would just be the same issue with different tags

Considering that it already happens with alternate race and happens with the other <thing>ization tags, it kinda falls under the "wrestle that later" line.

I hope you realize that this will cause alternate species to end up on raceswapping posts too (post #4384940).

As I already explained, alternate race is not for raceswap images and is frequently mistagged likely specifically due to that name. I've made that mistake more than once, both on the forums, on tagging, and on the Discord. It's an unintuitive name.

As I already said, it's likely that when people see the alias in the autocomplete, they'll realize their error. This wouldn't be the first time we've done such a change.

There are currently no mistags to be spoken of in either tag. I'd think this is a simple case of two tags for the same concept being brought together under a name that possibly helps prevent the mistags of one.
