We're going to have to come up with new tags for this, because there are several kinds of visors that don't have tags. I see at least:
The bulk update request #12324 (forum #221404) has been approved by @evazion.
BUR #39363 has been rejected.
deprecate red_visor
deprecate orange_visor
deprecate yellow_visor
deprecate green_visor
deprecate blue_visor
deprecate purple_visor
deprecate pink_visor
deprecate black_visor
deprecate grey_visor
deprecate white_visor
Colored visor tags. If visor by itself is ambiguous, then these definitely are as well and are better covered by colored hat or colored eyewear tags.
Reflective visor and raised visor should probably be cleaned up as well, and I'm not sure if the singular post in rabbit visor counts as an animal hat.

What tag do you suggest we use for mecha such as in post #9011074 then? We don't have color tags for assault visor, that certainly isn't a red helmet, and that seems to only leave red-tinted eyewear, which seems a poor match for mecha. I'm not saying we *can't* use it, but the wiki for assault visor reads "An assault visor is not a piece of eyewear, but rather a part of a helmet design."
For the moment, I'm only downvoting until we have a clear solution for mecha using the visor color tags.

We should create them then. Because while that might be a green visor, the first two posts in red visor are for an assault visor (post #9011074) and a hat (post #8999923) which is precisely the problem.
ETA: Realizing now that visor cap doesn't implicate hat (forum #253819) but was considered a type of hat in the headwear deprecation thread (forum #268799) so either 1) that implication should go through or 2) colored visor cap tags instead of colored hat tags

i also think we should do something with the visor types because i thought black visor implicated visor but then i saw the tag was deprecated. that's going to cause "orphan tags" that have the color tag but no actual visor type tag
I've tried cleaning out these tags to the best of my ability and creating red assault visor, blue visor cap, etc and sometimes just replacing the tag with the appropriate tinted eyewear sub-tag. (Current counts as of posting: white visor 2 (1 banned), pink visor 4, black visor 8, yellow visor 8 (4 banned), orange visor 12 (2 banned), green visor 23 (1 banned), red visor 39, blue visor 95, reflective visor 2)
This has mainly led me to the question of: wait, so what even is an assault visor? The wiki provides 4 example images and tells us what it isn't, but doesn't really say what it is. And what it's tagged on makes things even more confusing. Did an order:random search just now and here are some of the first handful of results I found.
Not to mention we have a bunch of Genji posts tagged with it... The phrasing also specifically mentions "science fiction" works, which makes me hesitate to put it in contexts like post #10156782, which is basically just a motorcycle helmet. And I also have no idea if something like post #7701213 qualifies for a colored eyewear tag or an assault visor tag, thanks transformers
I also still doubt how much the colored visor tags really matter in terms of mecha and helmet designs. Feels like half the time its a replacement for colored eye tags. If we aren't tagging things as like, "blue mecha" or "orange mecha" or whatever for the main colors of the dang thing (except for when users decide to sometimes tag white armor or whatever), I don't see why we need color tags for what is basically a windshield.
Speaking of this, I think we need to further subdivide or refine the concept of head-mounted display. At least those stylish sleek visor (transparent or not) worn by sci-fi mecha musume or henshin heroes are quite different from real-world VR headsets like MetaQuest or PSVR. In fact, in many cases you can't confirm whether that thing actually has a display function, that's why currently many of these are tagged as blindfold mask or goggles.
Additionally, head-mounted display used for brainwashing/mind control have a dedicated sub-tag "hypnotic visor" on e621. Although I'm not sure if this is necessary(could be somewhat replaced by searching mind_control head-mounted_display), but considering that most people can't use complex searches with more than two keywords, it's certainly better for certain fetish enthusiasts to be able to filter specific methods of mind control...
