Are there any other car models for which we break the tags up by model year? I mean, even the volkswagen_beetle tag—despite being twice as big—gets used for cars built half a century apart.
I'm not opposed in principle to having tags for distinct variants as long as there are dedicated enthusiasts who are willing to maintain those tags, but be aware that the average user has neither the specialized knowledge nor the interest to bother keeping them separated. If nobody makes an effort to populate these tags and keep them properly sorted, there's no point in having them.
