Manakete has been a tag with little search value since its inception. The primary issue with it is that the primary feature marks a manakete as a manakete is their ability to transform into a dragon. Secondarily is their pointy ears. However, for every image of a girl with wings having magical aura flare around here, we get half a dozen ass posts.

It's essentially a composite chartag search. However, plenty of characters that are manaketes are often not tagged with manakete. In addition, multiple characters under the tag, namely Corrin, are not actually manaketes.

We've tried wrestling with it and making it clear to not tag Corrin's ass focus pics with it, but within a week or two it's inevitably flooded with Nowi porn once again.

Thus, the tag isn't even a canon tag. It's a fanon tag.

I understand the reasoning and agree, but some dragons don't even look like dragons. Just look at fae_(fire_emblem)'s dragon form (post #3351810), and i'm not sure if corrin_(fire_emblem) can be considered a "traditional" dragon either.
It would be nice for it to be reworked to be used exclusively for artworks where they're clearly dragons.

Another user and I actually tried to rework it once. It was very quickly re-tagged. It may partly be because several of the characters have manakete in their wiki and thus it pops up as a related tag. If I were to prune it down to just images where they're clearly showing draconic traits or are in their dragon form, the tag would become essentially a search for Myrrh (fire emblem). I decided to make this BUR only because of that realization and previous attempt.

It's funny that Corrin, who is by canon not a manakete, makes up a third of the entire tag.
