post #2359906 – As shown here, now am not sure about politics of names here, but he and Melissa were Unitedstatians in the original, the latter was turned into a French, bit like Cabernet/Burgundy in Best Wishes or newest gen, during the translation of Gen IV.

With the complexity of pokemon human names get qualified so it'd be matis_(pokemon) if this goes through.
