Symbols in eyes that are not symbol-shaped_pupils

Posted under Tags

When browsing some old images today I noticed that post #549905 and post #556648 have light reflections in the eyes that are shaped to match the character. I tagged it as symbol-shaped_pupils, but that's not quite right. A tag and forum search didn't reveal any better tags for me to use.

I guess the question here is whether it's worth its own tag, or approximating with symbol-shaped_pupils is good enough. Opinions?

Yeah, this has been bothering me. I commonly see images where a character has something such as heart floating in their eye get tagged with symbol-shaped_pupils/heart-shaped_pupils (and am guilty of using the tags this way myself), even though it's clearly not intended to be the pupil since it's not centered on the eye. It's particularly noticeable when there are multiple different hearts floating in the eye instead of just one - people normally don't have more than one pupil.

How about we call the tag symbol_in_eye?

That would work. The only problem is getting it onto all the currently mistagged images. This isn't the sort of thing you can see in thumbnail mode and just tag script away :(

I'll go ahead and update the few I've noticed.

That is an issue. I was just looking for some examples before since I figured it would be easy with how many I've seen in the past. After 10 minutes, only found one so far.

Would such a rare thing warrant a specific tag?

Rare things deserve tags at least as much as super common things do. And this concept is really not that rare, just a bit hard to find at the moment. And the fact that it's hard to find makes creating a tag for easier searching an even better idea.
