New Android App for Danbooru

Posted under General

Hi,

I’m an application developer, a first-time poster, and a long-time lurker.
To make a long story short: I built an image browser for Danbooru and for other awesome gallery websites like it.

The app, “Crumby”, is a browser made just for images. Crumby is a little bit different from other *Booru apps on the market; it’s designed as a hybrid of a web browser and a photo viewer. It looks the same across different image galleries, lets you jump from website to website with a few taps, and offers a range of features to make your browsing experience as smooth as possible.

Since Crumby is in open beta, website support in Crumby is limited to Derpibooru, Imgur, and (of course), Danbooru. More websites, like Gelbooru and Tumblr, are being prepared for a future release. For now, I would really appreciate knowing what I can do to further tailor this app to the Danbooru community.

If you want to see more of Crumby before giving it a try, please watch this youtube video my friend drummed up:

If you’d like to download it, please visit the Google Play StoreAnd finally, for all other info, check out Crumby’s main website:

Note: Crumby requires Android 4.0+

I don't happen to have an Android device yet, but I'd like to thank you for this work. And I will look at it when I get such a device.

Apart from that, I've often wished there was an actual browser type image viewer for the desktop --- opening each selected in tabs --- Gwenview is great, but sometimes I'd like to look at images just as in a tabbed browser. Actually keeping images open in regular browsers builds up memory just as having a 100 pages open does.
