It's not as bad as it has been. I'm on pretty much 24/7 and the problem seems to be getting better.

I don't really mind this that much, but I think it'd be better if it would at least load the index page when there is no search.

Well I am connecting from Australia and I get it every single time I come to this site. I don't even get a list of thumbnails. It's "I can't take it easy" every single time. No matter what time of the day I come by.

To me, this server isn't just overloaded, it is completely exhausted and cannot cope.

When I can connect, I only dare do one small image at a time and even that only seldom works. The images time out half way through and then I have to refresh the page to get it again. Then I get the take it easy again. Frankly it makes the site very trying to use and it's the only site I visit on the internet that goes slower than a dial up connection.

This has only been happening in the last couple of months.
It will only get worse if the hardware limit has been reached. Perhaps you should look into a donation drive to buy more hardware?

Server throttling should be throttled and buried in a deep dark hole. ;) Having to refresh three dozen times or more just to get to a post page is ridiculous. If the servers are that overburdened, maybe you should introduce a donation or subscription drive to upgrade or add on to your server(s).

The take it easy message appears no matter what time of day you try to access posts or what have you, so there is no peak time or off time, unless peak time is 24hours a day? Did the server actually crash that much before the throttling was introduced? This used to be my favorite site for hentai pictures, but the server throttling of the site has pretty much throttled that. Hopefully a better solution can be found soon.

The server is getting hit pretty hard lately, even as a moderator I can feel it. There is talks of a subscription system (at forum #8618) which will hopefully raise some money and perhaps also scare off a few members, easing our server load.

Man... I realise since I've made this topic is just supports the idea of a subscription now. Stupid me.

I swear, we really just have to wait till summer ends, at least that long. I mean, this problem seemed to appear once summer started, and I really feel it might get a lot better or vanish completely once the summer months are over.

Perhaps just limit image size? A lot of these images are ridiculously huge. Many times my screen size and I'm using 1440x900. That would save space and speed things up.

do you have the resize images setting on?

File size doesn't much affect server load since it uses sendfile().

(this depends on the OS)

How odd, if I hadn't read this forum, I wouldn't even know this problem existed. Danbooru runs just fine for me. No idea, maybe it has something to do with my location? (Poland)

Remember, privileged users are able to bypass all of this.

I was actually wondering why I've never seen the Take it easy page, or whatever's on it - privileged and up accounts bypass... what, exactly?

Thanks for that. It's helped speed up the images, when they do load and I don't get "take it easy".

Oh wow... it's getting worse. I wasn't able to go on at all today, because the "i can't take it easy ;_;" page won't go away! I've left my laptop on all day, so it should have eventually loaded the page I was looking at.

After 8 hours I come back to see the "i can't take it easy ;_;" page still looking at me. The servers have been overloaded for this whole time? Geez it's just getting worse..
