Resizer quality

Is it just me, or do the reduced-resolution samples of highres posts look a lot worse than they used to? I've noticed they look very blurred and usually have aliasing problems for images with heavy lines. Pretty annoying. Is it some kind of compromise to reduce server load?

Could you link some examples?

Especially the last one, the line along Madoka's chin is badly aliased in the sample. Resizing the images using Photoshop's default resizing settings produces a vastly superior image.

Hmm. I'm not getting that problem on either of the PCs I viewed those in.

I don't think that's a recent thing.
I've seen quite a few pictures where the line work looks bad in the sample, but not in the full size.
Going through random highres posts I found e.g. post #866400, post #826323, post #825715.

For reference, here's a comparison showing the Danbooru sample vs. the GIMP with linear and cubic interpolation.

So can it be fixed? If even linear interpolation produces a better result, surely it must be a matter of incorrect settings for the resizer library?
