Reason: Essentially same thing, yet it is more intuitively to search for "dog tags" instead of "dogtags". And since more posts are tagged as "dogtags" the remain rest could be changed to it from "dog tags". (Or vice versa, it is up to admin decision to choose which one is better.)

Looking around it seems it's two words, so dogtags should be aliased to dog_tags.
On the issue of singular versus plural, it seems that it is common in the military to be issued two dog tags (or a single tag that can snap in two, only one depiction of that style). Depiction-wise, 58 of the images depict them in pairs while 42 of the images depict them singular. Paired dog tags were almost always military style, singular dog tags had a good percent of which they were non-military style appearing but the majority were still military style. Additionally 1 image tagged was of actual tags on a dog's collar, at least one of the singular images also were tags on the collar of a animal girl, and at least one image of paired military dog tags were on the collar of a animal girl. 2 of the images depicted multiple dog tags, 1 of which was 3 on a chain and the other of open chains with dog tags scattered about.

That was my idea in the first place, however since I don't know whether it is troublesome to change vast quantity of tags at once (due to aliasing stuff) it was safer to suggest changing tags of the minor group (in this case "dog_tags").
Clearly, if whole procedure is automatic, aliasing those two tags as You suggested is better option.
