feature: in the forum 'e' should edit your post

Posted under Bugs & Features

In the forum just after you have sent a message and you want to edit it, hitting 'e' should be equivalent to clicking the '...' then 'edit'.

Reasoning: 'e' does the same for posts, so it is natural that it should do the same in the forums. I often hit 'e' instead of grabbing my mouse and navigating to that small '...' but it never works.

edit: pressing 'e' works for forum topics that you created, but not posts (?)

I don't think that's a good idea given mods can edit other users' posts and one user can have multiple posts on the same page. E to edit forum topics was probably caused by some recent PR that added a lot of bad shortcuts.

I had thought that it could cause annoyance for moderators when I opened the FR, but that would be trivial to solve.

Apparently it has been causing annoyance already, and they don't solve it because moderators don't speak up, huh

Rather, it should only edit your own post/topic. I don't think moderators want to edit forum topics that frequently that they need a shortcut for it. (I regularly edit my own posts, English is not my native tongue, and I spot many mistakes after I post something.)
