Unable to see similar posts on censored tags

Posted under Bugs & Features

Hello everyone,

It seems like whenever a post is similar to a censored tag, the similar posts menu simply decides to not show it. This is obliviously bad because unless the image is a pixel-pixel duplicate there is no way of knowing before an upload. Not even the similarity percentage is being shown. Is this just on my end or is it a general problem?

Do you have the Pixiv and twitter userscripts installed? They’re very handy for detecting duplicates before uploading. I haven’t used the similar images search since I installed them. They’re mentioned here: forum #244548

Some additional useful things:
I strongly recommend installing the userscripts to show whether or not an image on Pixiv or Twitter is already uploaded. You can find the Pixiv one here and the Twitter one at topic #16342. You'll need tampermonkey to run them, but it's pretty simple. This way you don't accidentally try to upload already uploaded things.

I use an in-house userscript I've made for checking Pixiv, the issue I have is Pixiv links often show not uploaded if they are uploaded from another platform (such as Twitter/Misskey/Bilibili etc.) , are these scripts able to cross-reference Pixiv posts to Twitter etc.?

The pixiv userscript doesn’t cross-reference, but the twitter one does

That sounds handy, I'll get the Twitter one for the occasional Twitter bounty I may upload. Thanks for letting me know about it!

One thing to be aware of: while NTISAS (the twitter userscript) does cross reference, it can’t detect cropped duplicates which artists often post over there, so it’s not 100% foolproof.

Hmm, I can see that happening quite easily. Once again thanks for letting me know!

Though coming back on topic, I would still appreciate the Danbooru "Similar Posts" umbrella to catch duplicates from Pixiv and other platforms as a last resort when scripts may timeout or fail to catch them. This seems unlikely though, so I truly appreciate your help. It seems like for Pixiv I either have to wait for a Pixiv version of NTISAS or have a go at it myself at improving my userscripts whenever I have some free time.
