Initially, after uploading, I received a prompt stating that I needed at least 10 tags; consequently, I assumed that having ten would suffice. Later, however—after being informed that a minimum of 20 tags was actually required—I thought to myself, "Oh, so *that's* what the 'X/20 tags' counter is for." It is only now that I have realized the "20-tag" count specifically tallies *only* the General tags.

Well, 300 posts for me to tagging.

I've never liked the "/20" feature on the upload page tbh because I've seen newer users misinterpret it as a limit instead of a recommendation.

If you need help with what to tag then howto:tag checklist can be a good resource. The amount of tags an image will have depends on the post in question.

We don't promote people just because they've been here for a long time.

Understandable. So is there any way to obtain the gold rank besides becoming an active uploader? I would be willing to support the financially if that was an option..

There are bi-monthly Platinum raffles. The last one was two weeks ago.

Yeah, I saw those but I don't consider myself lucky enough to win one. Are there any other options? For example I'm good with coding.

I think it is possible to get Builder by contributing to Danbooru's Github repo, as I was promoted to Builder by contributing site extractor code to Danbooru source code.

I was just wondering if I am on the right track to getting the builder/contributor role? I saw the thresholds on https://promotions.nonamethanks.xyz/ (>5000 edits or >1000 uploads) and just wanted to know if someone reach these numbers will automatically grants the role or not? I'm a bit confused because I noticed some candidates on that list have a massive amount of edits but still haven't received the builder status yet.

It's not an automatic process; the point at which somebody gets promoted varies from user to user. The admins also sometimes get busy, so there can be long stretches of time with no promotions, followed by a large group of them.

I agree, I'm just getting into uploading and the way it looked made me worry I should avoid hitting it.

Can confirm that this is how I interpreted it the first few times.

Here are some of my personal reflections from recent times:
Firstly, pluck up the courage to make your first contribution—it really isn’t as difficult as you might imagine.
Then, as long as you don’t treat actions such as tagging, editing the wiki, and uploading posts as mere tasks, there is actually a peculiar kind of enjoyment to be found in them.

I hope that one day I’ll be lucky enough to level up and be free from the hassle of only being able to search for two tags at a time.

Finally, I do wish everyone who works hard to contribute to Danbooru wonderful days. You really did a god job.
