one of the easiest ways to add tags is to find a character that fits an underused tag. you may only be adding one or 2 tags per post but stuff like that helps the site a lot and gets you recognized

There's no set number.

But 500 uploads with a low deletion percent is a good benchmark.

I would say 5000 or so good tags edits.

Wow, that's way more than I expected, it's going to take me forever to get to that point ;-;, but thanks for replying.

Just use the site normally, sooner or later you'll come across uploads that have wrong/missing tags.

Alright, I’ve looked through this forum for a while. It’s pretty clear gold will never return, In that case I believe it would be best to remove it from being mentioned throughout the site. The feature has been unavailable for 3 years, and you have to be a builder to fully use Danbooru.

It’s kind of ridiculous the site says “Payment methods are temporarily disabled”. I fully support asking for community support in exchange for these types of things, but maybe be fucking clear because it majorly pissed me off to read all the people in this forum recommend the “easy workaround” of contributing to the site, which is easy! But also should not be presented as a workaround, if it’s not! It’s just how the site works now, and it pretending it’s not, is so weird. Just delete the mentions of it. If you really wanna bring it back later you can just add them back, but it’s crazy to pretend that after 3 years it’s still in maintenance.

You can’t even find this forum through “upgrade your account” you have to find it elsewhere! I wonder how many would be contributors would have contributed, if not for this horrible design.

I think these criticisms are valid. The messages made sense when it was assumed it would be a short-term problem, but there's no clear sign it's going to come back any time soon. We can't get rid of all mentions of Gold since it's still a valid rank, but we should at least have an easy way for users trying to upgrade their account to access this forum topic. And I think saying something like "Payment processors are disabled until further notice" would be a better way to word things since it makes it seem less temporary while still allowing the possibility of Gold payments coming back. But I think in general we should try not to get people's hopes up too much when there's been no updates on the issue.

There are still gold users using the site, it's not gone. You don't make any good arguments for us to go out of our way to remove mentions of it from the site.

I exaggerated a little, not every every mention but I think the site saying to upgrade to gold to get certain features is just plain outdated, and misleading.

You will get promoted if a promoter believes you're making contributions to the website. I got jumpscared by my DMail telling me I got promoted (and then I had to add ~loli ~shota to my blacklist)

Pro tip: If you're gunning for Builder, only want the extra tags, and don't want loli or shota posts showing up on your screen, add them to your blacklist before you get promoted.

I just found out about this whole situation and now I got depressed. I'm just a casual user that comes here from time to time and wanted to throw a few bucks to contribute because I like the site. I'd like to get promoted as an alternative, but like I said, I don't visit here often, so much so I just created an account after years of shadow lurking. I don't think I can ever do enough to earn the rank...

With that kind of mentality no you won't, you can just casually contribute to the site as a way to help

I'll be 90 sitting in a rocking chair in a retirement home and still waiting for gold to come back

aside from the point, that it's already been years without any solution for this issue,
my main problem is, that it's actively locking people out of content

it's quite frustrating to read "you need gold account to view" while browsing through the site ... just to see, that this so called "gold account" doesn't even exist, when you try clicking the upgrade button ...

and even more frustrating, if you read the "promise" that it's a temporary issue ... to come back a week, a month, a year, 5 years later, just to see, that it's still not "fixed" and still blocks you out of content

at this point, couldn't you just scrap this entire gold-wall entirely [or at least make it clear (not just to the user, but also to the artists) that you don't want people to view the content ...
