If I'm at 15/15 on post limit, can i request others to upload more art?

Posted under General

I have great interest in a specific character that's brand new from Nikke, i"m really new here and i noticed that a lot of art from that character isn't being posted here, shes quite popular so she's getting a lot of art from Twitter and Pixiv but it looks like she's getting art faster than people are noticing and uploading it here, i say this because i uploaded 19 arts of her so far and besides that number theres others high quality art that seems to be going unnoticed from uploaders here.

Is it possible to do anything like requesting art to be posted if i see high quality art not being posted here for more than a day or is it against the rules?

I'm not concerned about my uploads being approved or not, I'm concerned about some incredible arts not being posted here and getting "lost" because of the time.

Am i to concerned over some minor issue or is it a valid question?

Not sure if it's technically against the rules, but it probably should be. If you request others to upload works you're interested in, you'd be asking them to spend their own time uploading and tagging them, which can take a few minutes per image. And if they're Builder or below, they'd be using their own upload slots. The mods might even see this as you attempting to circumvent your post limit (which technically, it is). Also, if the posts aren't approved, then the other user will get an increase in deleted uploads instead of you, the one that wanted it uploaded in the first place.

Thank you for all the answers, i will upload the arts that i'm interested as assets and when i have free slots i will post them if no one else posted already, i wil not ask for other users to upload those arts as i agree that it would put these users in a unecessary situation where they could potentially lose time, upload slots and even increase deleted uploads too wich makes sense, in the end i will try to keep my hype for the new character in check

If you have free time, and the motivation, I recommend tagging images while you wait. It's one of the most under represented bits of work needed on the site, since being given Contributor status, and winning platinum during the raffles, is mostly dependant on uploads. Just make sure you check the previews first (>3000 images with the tag you're trying to add is a good sign, <15 is not), so you aren't creating junk tags.

You know people can just... say no, right? Uploading isn't an exercise in "spending time tagging". The Discord (Gay Chat App™) even has an #images channel that people regularly use to post art when they don't have the time to upload it.

As with all things, as long as you're not being weird about it (like harassing someone to upload), it's fine. I wouldn't go around DMing random people, but something like #images on the discord is an okay place to post art you can't currently upload.

I'll use this opportunity to point out, for anyone that is in the Discord, that I've posted a ton of art in the #images channel both of a SFW and NSFW nature that are ripe for uploading, the former I might eventually get around to but the latter which I'd never personally up, because I don't up NSFW content. Lots of good stuff, especially from more niche copyrights, ready to be upped.

I assumed the question was about asking users through DMail. If image is meant to be posted, not just uploaded, then it naturally follows the uploader will need to put in the time to properly tag it. Some may be fine with it, but I think we should be careful not to encourage this kind of thing as users are expected to acknowledge the DMails they receive and it could be annoying to get such requests from multiple users. It's also unnecessary in this case since, as was brought up before, the images can be uploaded now and posted later.

A request on Discord is completely different since you're letting interested users come to you instead of asking them directly. But I think it's a bit overkill for something like this. I doubt most of those images are gonna disappear overnight.

Also (and this is directed at kytom55), image requests may be okay on the Discord, but they should never be made on the site forums. The only exceptions are the art endorsements made by Approvers in topic #24186, and that's mainly to help out blue users that are having trouble finding things to upload.

By the way, Label (Nikke) has 337 posts right now (within the span of 11 days), so I don't think you have to worry about people not noticing art of her.
