Upload Feedback Thread - post here if your uploads keep getting deleted

Two of my posts got deleted because some approves claim decensors are against the rules. Are they? Where does it say that?

In the upload rules, this statement is written about prohibited content: "Third-party edits that substantially alter the content of the image, such as nude filters, headshops, fake translations, or meme or joke edits."

No mentions of decensored.

That's not an exhaustive list. Decensoring an image still substantially alters it.

Then in the decensored definition it states "All decensored posts should have the original as its parent. In addition, 'decensored' is different from both nude filter and uncensored." with nude filter being explicitly stated to be prohibited. Seems to me like a line is drawn in the sand to differentiate these two.

We usually don't permanently delete posts, so if someone uploads an inferior version of an image already on the site, we still need to parent the original to it.

The tags are different because they are all different things. Decensored is attempting to remove existing censorship from the image, while nude filters add nudity to images that never had it in the first place. But both are still substantive edits.

To boot there are a bunch of approved decensored posts. Was it a past rule that they were decensored and that's where the belief comes from or...? I see that third party edits are/can be borderline but that's a whole different ballpark from rulebreaking.

Looking through these, it seems like many of the active posts were either posted before the originals or were uploaded by a Contributor or higher. There is some leeway for third-party edits if the originals can't be found (and if those approvals like for post #10410093 weren't oversights, I guess it also applies to decensored posts), but these situations are rare and those posts are still considered less than ideal. An Approver won't always know if the original can't be found, so I imagine they'd still be difficult to approve even if uploading them was justified. However, this does not apply to your case:

Check the art in question too, high quality unintrusive changes that just take shitty censors away. Someone clarify pls.

You uploaded these after the originals, making yours the inferior versions. There is no reason to upload these as separate posts. If you wanted to share these, you could've left a link and/or embedded the image assets in the comments for their respective original posts.

That's a list of examples, not a comprehensive list. honestly it should be without saying that any edit done by someone else without the original artists consent is a 3rd party edit. It's clear from the source that the source didn't get any permission from the artists to do what he did.

They probably didn't expect they had to spell out every type of rule breaking 3rd party edit lol.

I didn't mean to imply my versions were superior/parent or anything, I did link them to the original, with the originals as the parent pictures. Regardless, thanks for the feedback and explanations, I appreciate them.

Personally, I didn't expect terms to be vague in neither guidelines or definitions, considering there's a pretty big list and so on. A line in the guidelines like "Third-party edits that substantially alter the content...(etc)" I can't imagine would be interpreted by most people to apply to a small mosaic or two black lines or what have you as the typical censors. I figured 'substantially altering content' would be like removing clothes, speech bubbles, altering composition, rotating, you name it.

Mind you, I'm not trying to stir anything up or argue about the rules being wrong per say. It's ultimately my mistake for making assumptions but I think we can see how one gets here. ATP I'm just glad someone actually responded and clarified, I'll know for future cases.

Yes, but that's required anyway. What I meant is that if you think sharing them is worthwhile, there are ways to do so without posting them normally. For example, the comments under post #2168486 have embedded images that are interesting in context, but not post-worthy. And by link, I meant post a URL to the decensored version in a comment under the original instead of uploading it.

[Pkmn, mainly Gardevoir/Gallade alternate designs.
Some were approved but likely I felt the rest were deleted due to time & luck perhaps (some of their posts [outside this list] were approved though). Artist doesn't upload anymore also.
Just curious overall if there's anything wrong? (I feel as if it's a nice change of pace compared to other/usual Gardevoir art tbh)]

I've only ever posted once, yet I have zero out of 15 upload slots and it's been that way for days. Is that meant to be the case? How do I gain them back?

That means you don't have any slots filled, which is the default if you haven't uploaded anything recently. (a good thing if you want to upload something)

Any reason why these didn't go through? They are nicely done, especially the Kiara posts

not an approver but the anatomy on the first one looks very weird around her waist and leg area. the second one looks kind of off too with the perspective but not enough to be deleted, i would approve that one. vote for me in the 2026 election
