Granted, I'm sure the _(copyright) tag came about not to make a legal distinction, but to specify copyright vs character or artist.

_(company) still makes more sense though.

Despite what ่‘‰ๆœˆ and others might very well say if they were participating in this thread, this has absolutely no place being a copyright tag. It does not represent a fictional universe, it cannot have characters, it cannot inspire derivative works. Mass edit to amazon_(company), please.

I'm inclined to agree here for the reasons stated (I think this reverses a previous opinion I had regarding coca-cola and pocky). I think the pretense of the copytags: metatag tips the balance for me.

I'll maintain though that things like McDonalds and KFC (company) need to remain copyrights despite being companies without series attached, because their mascots have become characters in their own right and can inhabit their own and other fictional universes.
