CommentaryRequest isn't even an approver .

Do not ping approvers here, there is a high chance they will just ignore or report you.

Fair point regarding the pings. But take a look at how many Approver+ users have actually left feedback in this thread over the past month. You can count them on one hand. Are @NiceLittleDan and @Unbreakable (and you) the only active Approver+ users on Danbooru?

Most users come here because they trust the Approvers' aesthetic judgment. They just want to know where their posts fell short of those standards so they can do better. They need to know the 'why' in order to improve.

I get it—if a post isn't to their taste, they click 'disinterest' and move on. Fine. But shouldn't the people managing the queue at least have the responsibility to tell users why their posts failed to pass the queue when they come here to ask?

This place should be a forum for Feedback, not a place to beg for approvals. And making it that way is the responsibility of everyone, not just any single individual.

Precisely. I believe the approvers have failed post #9348990. At least they should tell me why they believed it's not worth approving, especially after post #9099541 already was.

The issue is that a lot of the time the feedback is just "I don't like it" because it can be hard to put it into words. I've also not been the greatest mentally and epsecially physically lately so not had the willpower to reply to people (I have silently gone over the posts a few times though).

After I last mentioned the state of some people's request for feedback being pretty poor, there was an uptick in formatting which was nice. I will again say that spamming a bunch of posts at a time probably makes it less likely for an approver to go over them and even less likely to respond. There is some onus on the user to identify the issue themseves, especially if they're a frequent customer to this thread.

And lastly, to clarify, there is no obligation to reply to this thread as an approver. That's not asked of them when they're promoted and one of the rules in this thread states that feedback is "entirely voluntary to give" and thta you are "not guaranteed feedback".

Sorry if this was badly phrased, I'm about to go to bed and don't trust myself to remember to reply in the morning.

forum #394329 and forum #394341 I think explain why there isn't a lot of feedback given here in the words of approvers. Edit, NiceLittleDan beat me to the punch here.

Dont @ people. It is obnoxious behaviour.

As far as approvals go, sometimes what you upload just doesnt appeal to anyone. Its hard to be objective about personal appeal.

I explicitly wrote: 'This place should be a forum for Feedback, not a place to beg for approvals.' Did you miss that part?

I was asking for feedback to improve, not approvals. Framing my request for communication as 'begging' is actually what's obnoxious here.

I don't see how what they wrote is implying you're begging, unless you mean where they said to not @ people, which was a valid critique.

I understand the frustration, I really do. However @-ing approvers is just going to make them want to avoid speaking to you.

I try to give people pointers on what's off or wrong with their posts (even as member), so feel free to do the same

Sometimes posts will take longer to be accepted when they're from copyrights approvers aren't interested in and you will need to appeal in a few weeks/month (feel free to check my appeal success rate). Also nothing is "deleted" forever, your uploaded art is saved and other users can still view them with status:any or if they have the deleted posts on by default (as I do). Who knows, maybe someone in the future will enjoy it enough to appeal for you! I've done that for a few others with success. Earlier today someone gave me the suggestion of not appealing right away, so maybe try that? A fair amount of the posts seen here aren't bad or have any issues, simply fell through due to nobody being interested enough. A new person was promoted recently as well

yeah, I agree with you on this. too few approvers give feed back

What's wrong with
post #10328881
In the case of the second one, the quality seems to be that of previous approved art from the same artist. Inb4 we don't approve based on artist. I'm not saying it should be approved just because previous art from the artist were approved, I'm saying the quality is similar to previous approved art and deserves a second chance.
