Is this a good name for a tag?

I used the name metric lost kitten shimatsuku edit (meme) for a redraw of that edit (and I've seen others before on YT so it's not a one off), not sure if it's too long or clunky (Explained it on the Wiki if anyone doesn't know)

You misspelled shimatsuku in the name.

It is a bit long; could maybe be renamed or aliased to shimatsuku_lost_kitten_(meme)?

Yeah. It's useful context, hence why a shortened alias might be better than simply renaming it.

Having a tag for this is good but it doesn't need or warrant a meme qualifier.

How so? I’d call it a meme personally (that’s not the only remake of it I’ve seen)

Memes can trend but not all trends are memes. If it doesn't have meme status - objectively, not according to personal opinion - it shouldn't be qualified with meme.
