incidental uses of copytags/chartags (and what to do with them, maybe)

Posted under General

i don't know how to word this well, but there's a lot of copytags for things with defined characters (notable ones are sanrio and chiikawa) that are dominated by pictures where the copytag's use is only as merchandise such as character dolls or accessories or as doodles replicating the artstyle in an otherwise unrelated pic (in a lot of cases, in ways that are difficult to notice without clicking into the picture). there doesn't seem to be any good way to filter these incidental uses of the copyright out (no humans filters out personification, most parodies, crossover pics that do actually involve the characters, etc and is especially unhelpful for chiikawa as most pictures featuring the characters physically are tagged chibikemo, which is pretty much never tagged alongside no humans), could there possibly be a way to denote a copytag/chartag's use as incidental instead of a physical appearance or parody? or something

chiikawa chibikemo is actually your best bet for that copyright, Sanrio is a bit more hit and miss though sanrio chibikemo does have decent results. I was honestly unsure when tagging some Cinnamoroll pics so there's a bit of inconsistency there. I do try to tag him as a character if he's the focus and is shown in a more humanoid way, bipedal and acting like a person.

If cameo was better tagged this would be less of an issue and I do have to admit I forget to add it myself.

IDK shit on that series, but did upload art of Len which apparently had her holding it as a plush, am I not supposed too?

No, you are fine, and you shouldn't tag chibikemo if it's just a plush anyways. You should add the cameo tag though.
