Contributors have an unlimited amount of appeals?

Posted under Bugs & Features

When I was trying to appeal more than 13 posts, it did nothing. The message about the limit didn't appear too. Now I can appeal only 13 posts just like a builder or an usual user who reached 40 level of the post limit, though earlier I could appeal more. I checked contributor rights and the wiki page howto:appeal but I didn't see some changes about that. On the forum I found this message (forum #369945) but no more. So, is it a bug or a new rule or something else?

It seems that it was done literally just because one user appealed 150 posts in a single day, so instead of telling that user to be more reserved with appeals, they chose to quietly take away unlimited appeals from everyone. Just like how instead of demoting the approver who was abusing image replacements, those perms got taken away from all approvers, and how mods still can't see who downvoted which post because of some ex mod's bad behaviour.

Is there any way to view your slots as a contributor if you do want to appeal many posts? The usual display is gone if you don't have an upload limit.

Search appealer: ur name status:appealed and count by hand?

The appeal dialog now shows the number of appeals remaining once you have a pending appeal in the modqueue.

Unlimited appeals were removed because where the average active appealer might do 30 or 40 appeals per month, the top one or two appealers would sometimes do 100+ in a single day.

As a reminder, your upload slots determine the number of appeals you can have active at the same time. If you're not appealing 10+ things at once, then you're not going to be limited and it won't affect you. It will only affect you if you're appealing a lot of posts at the same time and none of them are getting approved. In which case you should face pressure to be more selective in your appeals.
