Danbooru needs to verify I'm human?

Posted under General

Every time I switch tabs, windows, or do just about anything, Danbooru needs to reload to verify I'm human. Not sure if its a problem with the site, my old macbook, browser (degoogled chromium with Ublock origin) or even my wifi. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using a VPN? Cloudflare doesn't like those.

No VPN's, problem only started about 1-2 weeks ago. Unsure if the problem is exclusive to my macbook until I login to danbooru on my PC, but I'll have to check tomorrow morning (too late rn).

also happens to me on my phone since 2/3 days ago, absolutely unusable, most things are not rendering properly, can't even visit site in private tab (would be equivalent of logged out)

curious is that on PC (no problem) I normally use vpn, but on phone it's always raw IP; cloudfare all the time harassing my phone now

What does this say for your user agent? We had problems with scrapers recently and I had to turn on captchas for people using certain browsers.

for my phone it says:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; P40) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/97.0.4692.70 Mobile Safari/537.36

for my phone it says:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; P40) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/97.0.4692.70 Mobile Safari/537.36

You should update your browser if possible. Chrome 97 is quite old. Scrapers often use old browsers and when the majority of traffic from a particular browser version is bot traffic I don't have much choice but to captcha it.

thank you very much, it is fixed now with an update, writing from phone here

the other version of chrome was from late December 2021, but finally cloudfare lets me live again already

I have started getting the same issue in the past few days on a ...Chrome/109.0.0.0... UA.

I don't know network administration, but would it be feasible to have a solution that assumes authenticated accounts are human until they show scraping behaviour?
Seems odd that I'm being served captchas every few minutes while logged into a 2010 account never used for scraping.

Anyway thanks for your work evazion, I recognize it must be hell battling LLM scrapers at the moment.

No, Cloudflare doesn't know about our accounts.

I'm also experiencing the captcha issue.

Browser: Chrome 109.0.5414.168
User-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

The release date for this version is September 28, 2023, which isn't exactly new, but isn't exactly ancient either. Also, due to my OS, Chrome can no longer be upgraded.

Apologies for bumping a month-old thread, but I've been seeing similar Cloudflare issues for the past couple of weeks or so, on a daily basis. I am not using a VPN and what the linked site says in regards to my browser is:

User-agent:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)

Browser:Chrome/138.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
