Is that really enough to kill the image? It's otherwise good. And there's absolutely a ton of images of considerably worse proportions that get approved.
not necessarily, but there’s also nothing exceptional about it. it doesn’t have a detailed background, or notable coloring. it’s just an “average” image.
there are so many “average” artworks in the world, danbooru could easily turn into gelbooru if it followed this standard. so when uploading, try to look for details that elevate an image above the norm.
of course, it’s not a perfect world. like Unbreakable said, flag images you think don’t belong here. also forgot to mention that when linking a post, you should use: post #[id] instead of a web link. like so: post #4344292
Could you provide examples of what is just "average" quality by your standards? I would describe the vast majority of uploads as average, but if this is clearly above average my standards must be misaligned with the site.

it's also worth mentioning that this isn't just about my tastes. approvers like or dislike posts for any number of reasons, and it's quite possible none of those reasons are related to what I said earlier. I just wanted to provide some feedback and a new perspective you could use.

When I check an image and think "how is that here when my pic got deleted?", it usually doesn't have an approver listed. I think the much older posts had different standards, so keep that in mind too.

Thanks. But it's kind of hard to know what the hell is good or bad when approvers are these esotericists who work in mysterious ways.

I think what you're referring to is posts uploaded by unrestricted users. these users have been given the ability to bypass the mod queue because of a good track record in uploading. this is why there's no approver listed in the details of some posts.
Not my upload, but I want to know what's wrong with post #4277069.
it doesn't look like she has a neck, and her collarbone is basically right underneath her chin. as a result, it looks like her upper body is a table her head was put on. the proportion of her boobs to her head, along with the layers of clothes that seem larger than they should be, just looks like bad perspective. her head should be much larger since I'm pretty sure the viewing angle is from above.
Thank you for the previous answer, and telling me how linking images work here.
For this one, the rest of the pictures from the same album seems to get accepted, so I don't understand what makes this one so different. post #4208018
And this one is just decent hentai post #4185517 (nsfw)
post #4037685 (the cover and one of the manga page is accepted)
All three images above are duplicates. This isn't positiv, as you may believe, but just useless for the site itself, because there's no need in having one exact same image two times. So duplicates aren't getting approved. The duplicate wiki states:
Avoid uploading visually identical images.
About the one hentai image; Single Comic Pages have a hard time being approved. Approvers don't know if an user randomly uploaded one incomplete comic page and not everyone has the time to check these. It's especially bad, if those comics pages are unpooled. The best thing to do is create a pool for comics and then upload the whole one, if it's good enough quality-wise. In my opinion post #4185517 isn't really outstanding. The quality is okay, but nothing I would approve, just because it's nsfw.
There is no thread to discuss newly uploaded images, but you can join the official Danbooru Discord Server. Sometimes you can get feedback there, if you're not to spammy about it. If this image is deleted, you can ask for feedback here, of course.

post #4351744: the shading isn't great, and her collarbone area looks poorly drawn
post #4348063: the shading isn't great, and the way the muscles/bones are drawn looks strange... what is that jutting out from anna's side? hip bone? should be lower down if so
post #4333275: in the traditional style, one I don't think is that popular anymore. either way, rough, notebook sketch-like
post #4256689: most approvers probably aren't fond of the close-up anus and penis
post #2994821: the canvas-eque style gives it an innately rough appearance
the reviewers are rude, seems like the rumor is true, u r not able to get approved if u r not a professional artists with at least 4 mangas published. ok, now i get it. time for new horizons..
