Imgur breaks links to danbooru

Posted under General

Where do I even talk about this?
Recently, when you try to embed a danbooru link into an imgur's image description, the server intentionally breaks it by adding spaces around dots in the URL. For example, if you write

what actually gets saved is

http://danbooru . donmai . us/posts/1546927

You don't even see that during the editing, you have to reload the page to witness the new feature.
Descriptions made before this glorious update seem to be fine, right until the moment you decide to touch it again.
Also, links like

http://safebooru.donmai.us/posts/1546927

still work fine.

So, does anyone know, wtf just happened? Did someone piss imgurdevs too much? Were there some changes in ToS that I missed? And why does Google have no idea what I was asking it about a few minutes ago?

In case anyone asks, this is where I do such, supposedly, naughty things.

It kiiiiinda makes sense. Danbooru is a NSFW site, after all (they probably don't know of sonohara and hijiribe, though). They may be deliberately breaking links to known NSFW sites to avoid accidental clicking and more importantly automated web crawlers. The latter is important since it can affect ads and such.
